Karla Benge brings over 30 years of oil and gas accounting and compliance experience, with deep expertise in federal and tribal royalty valuation, ONRR reporting, and regulatory process development. She joined Savvy Oil and Gas Consulting in 2022 as Senior Manager of Compliance Advisory Services and was promoted to Director in February 2025.

Before joining Savvy, Karla spent eight years as a Supervisor of ONRR Royalty Reporting and Compliance, where she managed federal and Indian royalty reporting, audit responses, and variance resolution.

Karla collaborated with engineering consultants to evaluate third-party plant operations and develop allowable processing and transportation rate calculations. She also designed and implemented valuation processes and internal controls for marketable condition compliance. A key contributor to the rollout of the Federal 2016 Rule, she led project planning and the development of processes and control frameworks that helped ensure successful implementation.

Known for her forward-thinking approach, Karla has reviewed global workflows to enhance operational efficiency, anticipate the impact of legislation, and align team workloads with evolving business needs. She is also highly regarded for her ability to mentor staff, lead process improvements, and foster accountability in system and reporting functions.

Karla holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Langston University.
